Beach Guide

Cala Gració

San Antonio (West)

Stretching 80 metres long and 40 metres wide, Cala Gració is a stunning beach with delicate golden sand and crystalline waters. This pristine paradise is located just outside San Antonio’s busy centre; the nearby hotels are hidden away, providing a peaceful and secluded atmosphere.

The beach itself is unusual in shape, being deeper than it is wide. Its soft sands continue into the shores sloping gently into the sea. Boathouses and shacks lie in rocky areas at the end of the beach and shady pine trees prove perfect for curious children to explore.

Meaning ‘gracious’, Cala Gració is named after the river that used to flow there. Breath-taking views and serene atmosphere work in tandem to ensure the cove truly lives up to its name. European travellers and young families are drawn to the natural beauty of Cala Gració.

The best times to visit Cala Gració are either the morning, when there are less people and the sun is rising slowly over the great cliffs, or in the evening when people are also scarce and the air is cooler. Here, you can watch the sun sink behind the cliffs as you enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a tasty meal.

Facilities provided by the beach include loungers and parasols, showers, lifeguards and full disabled access. Parking is also available near to the beach.

This beach offers pure relaxation without the distraction of fast paced activities. Relax and soak up the sun on the sunbeds, or go for a short hike around the coastline from Cala Gració to Cala Gracioneta. Swim in the cool waters or snorkel around the rocky shores.

If you drift a little further out into the waters, you can explore Cala Gració’s little sister beach, Cala Gracioneta, which lies just around the corner.

BEACH BARS & RESTAURANTS

At the back of the cove, sitting on the sand, you can find the little Cala Gració beach bar, which serves fresh drinks and light snacks throughout the day. Just off the beach lie a few restaurants and a short walk away is Cala Gracioneta’s delicious El Chiringuito, a bar and restaurant owned by the well-respected Mambo Group which is an ideal spot for sunset.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

Located on the west coast of the island on San Antonio’s outskirts lies Cala Gració. At just 2km north of San Antonio town centre, Cala Gració is a 5-minute drive away and a 25-minute drive from Ibiza Town. Cala Gració can be reached by either car, taxi or on foot. From San Antonio, follow road signs going north. In the summer season there is a ferry, which runs from San Antonio.
