This pretty little cove just outside San Antonio is made up of a beautiful white sand, tantalisingly turquoise waters, surrounded by sloping woodland. Sisters with Cala Gració, Cala Gracioneta is a real all-rounder; tiny in size but packed with character. This quaint and little rustic beach provides a wonderful atmosphere of serenity, giving you the a true little taste of Ibizan paradise.
The shady trees and rocky headland make for beautiful scenic walks. At the top of the woodland, you will witness the most picturesque view of the beach below as the sun meets the sea and glistens in the daylight. The golden sand is soft and warm and the calm and shallow sea makes for a perfect swimming and snorkeling conditions.
Placing ‘eta’ or ‘ita’ on the end of words is a Spanish way to playfully make things smaller, with Cala Gracio just a swim away around the shore, Cala Gracioneta is named after her big sister.
In peak season, this little cove can fill up fairly quickly, however it rarely gets rowdy or loud. To secure a soft sandy spot by the sea, we recommend arriving earlier on, before midday.
Cala Gracioneta in the evening is just as beautiful and less busy with stunning sunset scenes. Magnificent colours dancing and merging together in the sky as the sun melts into the sea, a serene and romantic backdrop to end the day.
Activities on Cala Gracioneta are limited as the beach is so small. Many visitors enjoy walks along the headlands and down by the sea. Snorkelling, swimming and paddling are also popular as the warm waters are so inviting. Facilities on the beach include loungers and parasols (but these are limited), and parking (also limited).
The only restaurant on the beach is El Chiringuito, but it is the only one you need… Feast on perfect paella dishes, amongst some of the best on the island, and sup on thirst quenching cocktails. El Chiringuito is located at the back of the beach and is an ideal spot for sunset dining.
Just next to Cala Gració, a five-minute drive north of San Antonio, lies Cala Gracioneta. If coming from Ibiza Town, it is just a 30-minute drive.
Admittedly not the easiest place to get to, Cala Gracioneta can be found down a slippery path after taking a winding road towards the sea. Alternatively you can swim from the neighbouring bay of Cala Gracio.
