The turquoise and blue waters around the shoreline of Ibiza and Formentera allow fantastic visibility underwater, with 25-30m of submarine world generally in sight at any time. This is perfect for even the most experienced divers and snorkelers. Ibiza’s amazing topography and the abundant marine life provide plenty of visual interest to please divers of all levels. For a more comprehensive scuba experience, several diving schools offer everything from try-dives, to guided excursions and courses.

There’s fun in the sunshine to be had with kayak or SUP (stand-up paddle) excursions. Several watersports centres offer kayak routes that start from different beaches and which accommodate all levels. SUP is gaining more and more in popularity, and the sport is not generally difficult to master. Full moon trips are a romantic idea for couples and SUP yoga classes are even offered for the most balanced of visitors.

For the more active and adventurous guests, wind or kitesurfing are fun and adrenaline-filled activities to try off the shoreline. During spring and autumn in particular, the wind speed increases making these activities more available and fulfilling. During peak season the best place to surf is a place called “in between the waters” – a water stretch between Espalmador and Formentera that is generally always a breezy spot. Several schools offer equipment rental and training courses.
