A holiday to Ibiza will always involve time in the water, enjoying the beautiful Mediterranean. Exploring the coastline just with snorkel and goggles, however, might not meet the expectations of today’s fun-loving visitors. There’s a whole new generation of exciting toys available to enhance everyone’s time in the water. Your Ibizan escape is a great time to try something new and find your favourite of these exhilarating playthings.
Some of these water toys are already included with a Cactus luxury yacht charter, but parties often want more than might be provided as standard, and additional items are easily added either by the day or for the full charter. Cactus Luxury Lifestyle Managers are able to advise on standard equipment for each super yacht and on capacity for additions. Guests don’t need to be on board their own yacht to enjoy these water toys – we can arrange for classes and short-term equipment rental wherever our guests might be. Seabobs, for example, have occasionally been spotted in some of the larger swimming pools in the Cactus luxury villas.
Flyboard, Hoverboard and Jetpack are activities powered by a Jetski, and are always undertaken with an instructor. Either a half day, full day or as a rendezvous with your luxury yacht, timings are flexible and all instructors speak at least English and Spanish. It’s recommended to plan at least for 15 minutes per person to get going.
Flyboards are snowboard-shaped boards that guests stand on and which are then propelled straight out of the water, enabling the rider to stand in the sky. More advanced users are able to perform gracious pirouettes, diving in and out of the sea. Look out for some of the flyboard shows that are offered by specialists around the island to get a flavour of the potential fun.
Similar to the flyboard a hoverboard lets the rider either stand sideways or sit on the board. Sometimes easier for balance, the hoverboard works like a broomstick for a sideways-riding witch.
A jetpack is the most high-octane water toy available for hire today. A real James Bond item, these things are definitely not for the faint-hearted. Users wear a backpack that harnesses the jetski’s power to propel the adventurous user into the sky. Instructors will ensure safety and help guests learn to control the force and make the most of this awesome experience.
Due to UNESCO World Heritage status for the natural park area of Ses Salines, within the boundaries of the park jetski-powered toys are not permitted.
A seabob is an easy-to-use, luxury water toy that’s the perfect complement for a day on the water. The torpedo-shaped toy propels users through the turquoise blue waters and offers a whole new way to discover the submarine water life. Adjust your goggles and surprise the fish with the amazing underwater speed these nifty little toys can achieve.
